Your ignorance about chess computers looks gigantic, but about antichess meaning, looks infinite.

My last 20 games playing computers in ICC has had next score in my last days now in September 2007:

1. Computers: 12.5 = 60.25%
2. Father: 7.5. = 37.5 %
Total: 20.0

And I have played "just for fun" without concentration.

What's ridiculours about father's show? He's just showing us his interesting games that he has with Rybka on different servers. I have personally played against Father on playchess and his a very nice person. I think it's an interesting experiement to tell you the truth. I think You have it all completely wrong, Father isn;t doing this for an Ego boost, more for the love of chess and computer chess. Just relax, and think before you judge next time.

antichess are in my opinion just different way of playing chess that we are used to. You can not call it 1/10000% of the chess.
The stalemate is being antichess either.:-)

There were some revolutions in chess and it is being one of them.

Chess are the game neither intelligent nor dumb. The way of playing chess (or that what we think is proper method) has been changed by the time.
Steinitz was strongly criticisized, , while making his revolution i.e.

When we became better players it is easier to play for us. It is possible that at the end the universal strategy will be found and then it could be very easy to describe and implement as in the Feynman physics books. The style and 'level' of the games depends on both sides. Often the solution is easy and it is on our eyes but we do not see it.
The way of Fathers playing vs chessprogramm is being clear and I would not called it dumb. The way of explaining it by Father shows that he understands the method good.
You can propose other way to fight vs computer programm and check if it works.
Why You do not challenge the computer but Father ?

second, his method is boring and it certainly is no fun to play this way. chess is a game, which we enjoy (at least me). his way of playing doesn't remind me of a GAME.

He posted his results at some point above from his last 20 games where he scored 37.5%. The probability of being able to do that "while losing much more than 90% of his games" is extremely close to zero, so one of the two statements must be wrong. Seeing as his is provable, yours would seem suspect...

some crazy guys collected his games also on the chessbase server with much more games. I don't say this without proof. it also depends on what comps you play. I also can score reasonable against crafty or so.

Don't get me wrong--what you say makes sense, especially with his elo--scoring less than 10% against very high-rated engines is what one would expect for someone with an elo in the 2200-2300 range. I just see that something here doesn't make sense. According to his stats on ICC, he scores nearly 50%--but still his rating is on the order of 2200. I had heard the 90% figure long before you mentioned it--can the "crazy guys" be trusted, or have you seen the games yourself?--but that still doesn't make sense with him posting his stats from a string of 20 games where he scored 37%. I did the statistical problem on this, and here goes: in each set of 20 games, assume he scores 10%, giving him an average score of 2.0 per 20 games. This is a Poisson statistic with mean = 2.0. The good thing about Poisson statistics is that the mean is equal to the variance. Thus, the standard deviation (equal to the square root of the variance) is 1.414. Thus, to score 7.5 out of 20 is 3.889 standard deviations from the mean. Now, to achieve something 3.889 standard deviations from the mean requires an expectation value of 19,869 trials. But each trial has 20 games, so he needs to play over 397,000 games in order to achieve a string of 20 games with a score of 37.5%.

What do we conclude from this? I will assume that everyone is correct here. The conclusion, then, is that Rybka is far easier than most other engines to cajole into these sorts of locked positions, probably because it tends to like them.

I do not know what you are calling a method.
Father has explained his method together with Kaustbuh. It was shown some key positions for the method. The explanation was clear and not difficult to understand. It is a big plus for it. It proves that he(they) understand what they are doing and speaking about.
Someone may like that method someone not. We are used to play in some way and that what is different may irritate somebody but it shall not be the reason to the negation of the method.
I am wondering to adopt the method to the direct play. I saw yesterday the game in the championship of the city where theoreticly (rating ;-)) weaker player tried to get blocked position with black versus the previous champion and it was succesfull. He got a better position in the middle end. I do not know if former champion overpushed or not . The game was drawn but it was the lucky solution for the champion.

CreepingChess is listed above as a "chiken" (Chicken) by no means is this so. CreepingChess will play any human who can put up 1-2 rating pt. or within 600 rating pts. If you are so good at beating comps, you should soon fall in this category as CreepingChess ranges from 3000-3150... There is no point playing rated games, which is what we want, if we don't get some compensation. In fact, I would say there are more human "chikens" than computer. You are 1 person...yet we computer operators seldom see real human players because they know that they will lose the majority of the time. Especially titled players, who will only play the top rated 3600-3800 rated (ICC) comps so as to lose only 1 or 2 pts per loss. So when you hit about 2400, you should be able to take on CreepingChess...who is not a chicken, but just doesn't want to take time it could be playing rated games, for games where a person is just playing to draw by blockading and moving a piece back and forth. Would you do this in a human only rated tournament? NO. You know your opponents would look at you with contempt. Not trying to win, only trying to draw...this is why many who try your method, get noplayed by some accounts. I don't blame them, it's a waste of time.

There are many strong chess players human beings that are chickens playing against computers in a public room.
For that reason, and actitude, could be in the end, the battle, "man versus machine".
Just as example: Into engines room from playchess.com there are usually just a few humans beings playing against computers; minus that a half of fingers of a one hand, or it is incredibe that there is not usually tournaments where machines and humans beings are playing at same time in a same atmosphera. This is very sad ........ very sad.

What I have been doing since July 2001, is only write, and says that we must be fighting against chess computers, that, tehre ways, that not all is loose.

Then those accounts who do the noplaying have ratings that are artificially inflated, and such users should be looked at with contempt. The method works due to problems in the engines and/or opening books. These problems can be circumvented at the opening book if users use different opening books with different opponents. Of course, this requires them to be present at the beginning of such matches. Well...duh!! If the user isn't present, then the opponent can't be blamed for a user-induced weakness.

EDIT: However, I agree with you on the 600-point range: if you don't have the potential to gain rating points in the game, and you are playing rated games, then it would be a waste of time to accept challenges from those outside of that rating range.

He is playing chess in unusual way, that is all. Everyone has right to choose the best strategy vs his opponnent.
If someone prefers to play 'right' chess and loose it is his matter and if someone prefers to use 'odd' strategy and win it is his matter either.
I would like to know what strategy will you select if for the win you will get 10 000,00 $ but for loosing you will have to pay 1 000,00 $, 'the right one' but loosing or 'the odd one' but winning ? ;-)

You must be aware, that Rybka wins against humans, because she don´t play 'right' chess. She only wins, because she plays complicated and artificial chess; search based. Her depth in the middle game is always more than 6 plys deeper than from any human (and usually trusty!) and here she kills them. No fair play! Vas and Larry are not so interested in improving the endgame, because there are no more Elos. Rybka is winning before the endgame! And if she failed, you have to improve the middlegame (there are the Elos). Endgames are covered by figure constellations but not by endgame heuristics. And you have to see: humans never reach endgames against Rybka and against other engines, Rybka is almost best in endgames.
Therefore I like Fathers games. He shows the weaknesses of engines and killed their search. This is intelligent!

To figure out the 'truth', you have to overdo it! Today, I (we?) can´t see the weakness of Rybkas play in the middlegame, but I (we?) can see often her very poor endgame play. Some days ago, Vas said, he isn´t sure, that he can do anything in rook endgame play for Rybka 3. This horrifies me. Why always strengthen the strength and let the weaknesses be weak? Someone, who can´t play properly rook endgames, understands nothing about chess in my eyes (Elo anyone)!

I am aware but my impression is slightly different. I think that Rybka understands some positional factors i.e. that what is called the domination at least. It is not based on the analysis of many games but...
The other point is endgame playing. I think that Rybka is playing it with the same strength as the middlegame but the humans are relatively stronger in the endgame and weaker in the middlegame.
I do have small experience with play vs chessprogramms but that games I drawn (I have not known Fathers technique) were due to avoiding the break through the position. Programm has had advantage in the space and mobility but I have controlled all break through points and it allows me to draw. I have won only one time vs program in the endgame on the 'zugzwang' motiv and majority were looses of course.

The other problem is what we call the 'right' chess. I changes in the time :-).

ME offend Father? He's the one who without knowing me or my account's (CreepingChess) ideas towards his system, called ME a chicken! I was only responding to this slight. As for my account getting inflated for noplaying people who continually try to win or draw by not playing fighting chess (which I would call chicken) and which I don't do as they seldom win anyway and draws are even scarce... I just said "some accounts" And they DO noplay people who try this method. You just have to look at finger notes to find out which comps do this... It don't get inflated because It plays vs other computers....at 3000-3150, It is hardly over-rated. As you see. It gets beat quite often.
